Rostella is based in the heart of Cardiff and provides quality car insurance services to car insurance provider Hedgehog. This means we provide a range of functions including customer service, claims handling, underwriting, pricing and other car insurance related functions. We're a data-driven, agile company where everyone is expected to come up with ideas and help implement them to continually improve what we do and how we do it. Our aim is to create and maintain an industry-leading customer experience.
Hedgehog has been providing car insurance since 2018, and we are now looking to accelerate our business with support from new partners. We are rapidly growing and looking for analysts to join our Pricing and MI team to deliver Management Information and analytical services across the business.
While the office is based in Cardiff, the position offers the flexibility of hybrid working.
Your key responsibilities:
- Build reports from the Company’s data warehouse to enable business users to monitor, reconcile, analyse and report on business volumes, insurance premiums and income streams.
- Ensure scheduled reports are delivered on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and that these are accurate and complete.
- Update standard reports to take account of business developments and priorities.
- Collate data from sources other than the data warehouse (e.g. supplier portals) and present to the business.
- Ensure consistency of reporting across different business units and make sure that any differences are highlighted and understood.
- Assist staff across the company to use the data warehouse and maintain MI production manuals.
- Support the implementation of pricing changes.
- Evaluate the potential impact of new data sources.
- Provide support to the Pricing and MI Team on projects.
Your skillset and experience:
- Ability to analyse data to support decision-making.
- Able to identify, investigate and explain data trends.
- Coding experience desirable but not essential (e.g. SQL, SAS, R, Python).
- Excellent communicator, able to convey complex results to technical and non-technical staff.
- Creative approach to problem solving.
- Able to identify and understand stakeholder concerns and propose actions to address them.
- Able to use own initiative and progress work independently, delivering within agreed timescales.
Qualifications:
- Educated to at least degree level (or equivalent) in a mathematical/scientific subject.
